In the Summer of 2024, a friend mentioned that they knew someone who wanted to start a food trailer and just serve smoked bologna sandwiches. Affordable. Tasty. An alternative to the $18 millennial burger joints that are starting to exhaust our wallets. Five bucks for a great smoked bologna sandwich…ten bucks for two sandwiches and a soda and pickle…twenty bucks for FIVE sandwiches in a paper bag with pickles to go! Something the average American family could afford that wouldn’t break the bank. I loved it.

First of all, my mom loved a good slab of smoked bologna. On a hot summer Friday night, I would go with my mom and run over to a nearby Lebonese Steak House and BBQ joint, head around to the back door of the kitchen, and pick up a slab of ribs, some cabbage rolls, and a pound of smoked bologna. It was never the same price twice over twenty years.

So I wanted to see this smoked bologna trailer happen. I asked if they had a logo or a name or any thoughts of what things would look like. Nope…wide open. That night I came up with a whole brand concept, from the name to the logo to the merch to the trailer. I contacted W.T. Cauley, the man behind the bologna, and pitched my idea. “Baloney Maroney’s Smoked Baloney Sandwiches & More!” The whole look had a retro vibe to it, just like the cool vintage travel trailer that was to become the restaurant on wheels. After a day or so, W.T. and his wife were all in on the branding.

So, we here at Vibrosonic got busy and came up with merchandise, employee uniform ideas, sandwich board sign (no pun intended) designs, road signs, bumper stickers, and more.

It took about a year from the spark of an idea to W.T. getting the trailer ready to go, along with his fantastic recipes for sandwiches and salads. And in late June of 2025, nearly a year to the date, Baloney Maroney’s opened its window to the public, selling tasty smoked baloney sandwiches on Route 66.

And the best part of all is that I get free smoked baloney sandwiches for life. And don’t you think I won’t be taking them up on that offer soon!
