Comfort (1998)

by The Deadlites

Through the mid- to late-90s, I was in a band called The Deadlites. One of those bands that played big shows, always had people telling us we were going to be huge, and never signed to a record deal. Oh well. We started out in 1993 as ANGEL.HOUSE, and our third gig was opening up for rock and roll hall of famers Cheap Trick. Amazing. We continued to open for touring bands and went on a U.S. tour of our own in our awesome tour bus. In 1998 we changed the name of the band to The Deadlites and recorded this album at Doubletime Studios in San Diego with Jeff Forrest. Doubletime was a hot spot in San Diego at the time, with bands like Blink 182, Rocket From the Crypt, and Fluf recording there. The band split up at the end of 1999 but remain close friends to this day, still playing and recording music together on different projects and bands.

The Deadlites: Jaimie Muehlhausen (lead vocals, guitar, mandoguitar), Rob Quillen (drums), Dave Quillen (lead guitar, backing vocals), Mike Hawkins (bass). Road crew: Shawn Liles and Rich Reed.

[ANGEL.HOUSE was the same line-up except David Fenderson played bass.]
