FONTS

FONT: FRUITSTAND BOLD

I was riding my Vespa out through the backroads across the Pala Indian Reservation with the Vespa Club of San Diego and we passed a fruit stand with really great hand-painted lettering. I couldn’t stop at the time, but a couple of days later I drove back out there, talked to the owner and took some photos. Most of the letters were there, and I created the few that were missing by piecing together parts from other letters. Includes two sets of upper case letters and most punctuation. I recently loaded the font onto a thumb drive and took it to the people who own the fruit stand. Now they have their very own font. And you can use it too…it’s great for anything that needs to look like a hand-painted sign.

FONT: CONTUSION

Quite a few years ago we were developing the branding for the Tony Hawk Signature Series skateboards, pads, ramps and other products. We wanted a hand-written font that was casual yet still very readable. Someone pointed out that my handwriting was exactly what we needed. So…believe it or not, this font is my actual handwriting. Most handwriting fonts are hard to read, so this one is quite possibly the best handwriting font ever! We made a bold version as well and now it can be yours! Looks great when used larger, but really does its best work at small and medium sizes…just as if you wrote it yourself!

FONT: PAPACUE

Papacue is the new headline font from Vibrosonic. It’s not meant to be little. It’s big. It’s bold. It stands out on its own. It can handle the heat. Capital letters only with numbers and most punctuation. Great for editorial or signage. Not great for essays or forms. Download it now for free! (You’re welcome)

FONT: YUCCA VALLEY

Yucca Valley came from a sign along the 29 Palms Highway on my way to Joshua Tree. I’m just going to say it…I feel like this should already be a font, so if you are here because you already designed a font like this, please just let me know. I looked and looked for one and couldn’t find one. So here we are. This is a big, bold headline font and it’s not for the faint of heart. Download it now for free!

FONT: ALPHAREX

Sometimes you need something out of the ordinary. Spooky. Creepy. That’s where Alpharex comes in. It’s furry. It’s spiky. It’s got edge. It’s got attitude. Probably not the best for small text…we’ll admit it. But excellent for big, bold headlines and subheads galore. Get it before it gets you!
